About David Joyner
An inability to sit still and a love of animals was the genesis of the David Joyner art journey. He was an 8-year-old boy with awful handwriting, who morphed into an awkward teenager with the same penmanship. Shapes and colors became easier for him to leave onto a piece of paper than letters. He began teaching himself to draw and paint with very little personal instruction from another artist. Most of his creative progress has advanced by success through mistakes. His drawing table became a refuge. An easel was a shelter from a world screaming at him to fit in. These voices turned to a whisper. His ambition as an artist is to always represent the beauty that surrounds all of us. To convey what a photograph doesn’t consistently capture. His medium of choice is acrylic paint. His drawings are mostly graphite, with a splash of charcoal. Anything is possible with a blank canvas, a paintbrush, and 3 primary colors. As an artist, he is forever grateful for being given this ability. Every piece of art that he has ever created were the result of a Mother who told a lanky 8-year-old boy that he could draw, and a wife who has helped to breathe life into his creativity. He owes all of his artistic endeavors to these 2 ladies. David lives in Okeechobee, Florida with his Wife Sally, Daughter Olivia, 1 dog and 3 cats.
